Hello everyone!

I am new into this... started some time ago but not fully working on this.

An user toldme that  he is seeing a field "Assignee" (not editable) and a field "Assigned to" (editable but it is a custom field as I have checked)

How can I make Assignee field to be editable if It doesn't show in the list of fields to be added on screen (only the field that I have been created as custom field)

Please I need to understand this.

Thanks in advance,

Ro

Hello

If you want to edit the assignee field you need to have the assign issue permission.

Make sure this field is on the edit screen too.

Go to your project settings > permission you will see which user/group/project role has the assign issue permission

Thank you Mohamed!

There was a permission issue. It seems that the person who has created de permission created one with no permission on assign issues.

Thank you very much

Hello,

I'm getting this issue with our Jira. We cant use the people section to assign users we only get the ability to do that after we click "assign to me" then we can edit that field freely.

When you go the long way using the assign button that works fine.
