prod to dev copy

Hi

we host in AWS our jira env. we have a prod an dev environment. If we want to do a refresh (copy) of our prod environment to our dev environment we make a snapshot of our rds (where data and database is stored) and restore it, rename it to the dev configurations and startup jira. However we don't have an exact copy. What is going wrong?

The statistics aren't the same. For example we have prod env with 12 issuetypes and after refresh we have 18 issuetypes in dev.

Hello Maarten,

Thank you for raising this question.

Can you confirm to us if you have performed the backup and restore of your JIRA environment following the steps of the documentation below:

Migrating Jira applications to another server

If you followed those steps, please check the error logs if any errors are being reported.

Can you also confirm if the extra issue types were added to the dev environment before the import?

I recommend you to perform the import to your dev environment again making sure that the data on your dev environment was previously erased.
