prevents the start date and the find of a blocked ticket on its parent from being taken into account

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a way to prevent the parent issue's date from updating when an issue changes to "Blocked." Do you have any suggestions? In Jira, the parent issue's date updates automatically. The start date is the earliest date and the end date is the latest date.

I want to prevent that if the child is blocked

Hi @Diallo and welcome to the community!

What type of date-field are you using? Is it a standard JIra field or is it a Custom field?
Is "Blocked" a workflow status? 

Normally Date fields are not updated between parent/child issues so it sounds like there is an automation or workflow setting doing this. 

You can check the automation on the work item in the right column under Atomation. Click refresh to see recently run automations on that ticket.

To investigate the workflow you need to go to Adminstraion (cogwheel) and go to 'Work items' -> Workflow and identify the workflow used for the work item. Check if there are any post actions connected to the transition from statuses to "Blocked"

yes, we use a standard Jira field, and in our workflow, we have a blocked status. 

you’re right, there is an automation on the back; on my end, without the automation, children’s dates don’t affect the parent, I’m looking for that. I don’t know if this is right because we use a bigpicture also i don't know
