need update the fix version

julia.s November 19, 2025

In the fix version, we have epics

If the epic's Due date has been updated -> need to change it in the fix version

If the  Start date has been updated -> need to change it in the fix version

Oh sorry, forgot to add - to create an automation rule

If we update the due date of the version -> automatically update it in the epic that is marked with the same version

Welcome @julia.s

You can create two automation rules for this:

  1. Trigger: Field value changed - Due date
    1. For branch - Parent
    2. Within the for branch add the condition for work item type to be Epic
    3. Within for branch add Update work item action, choose Fix version and choose which version you want from there - last or next released
  2. Second automation rule would be the same instead of Due date, go with the Start date

Yeah, that makes sense. I’d suggest keeping a quick checklist: whenever an epic’s Due date or Start date changes, immediately update the fix version field too. That way nothing gets out of sync and your tracking stays accurate. Maybe even set a reminder or automation if your system supports it
