migrating projects from Jira Cloud to Jira Data Center

My team is preparing to deploy Jira Data Center and we are experimenting with migrating multiple teams' Jira Cloud projects to our Jira Data Center instance.

We are trying to follow these instructions but we continue to encounter errors and we can't restore the Jira Server backup from cloud to the Jira Data Center instance. It appears to be having issues with missing xml data.

Has anyone else been successful with these instructions?

Hello Marshall and welcome to the Community!

Really unfortunate to hear you're running into issues restoring your cloud backups into your new Datacenter instance. Since you did reference your XML data as possibly being the culprit of your failed restores I would like to ensure you're structuring the export file properly, more on this in How to structure the export file.

Alternatively, you could be running into other issues with the restored data related to your XML files, we would suggest reviewing the following to see if they assist in restoring:

• When migrating from Jira Server to Jira Cloud via XML backup, the restoration fails with the error '[GenericDelegator.makeValue] could not find entity for entityName' is thrown. 
• Unable To Find JIRA Backup (entities.xml) Inside Of Zip File Error
