Hi, I am trying to migrate all the project data from versionone to Jira. When I go to the external import system in JIra,, I see that we can import only the issues .
How do we migrate backlogs, sprints and all the project data from versionone to Jira cloud? Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi @Praveena
There is advice on importing data from another issue tracker on this page.
The advice for VersionOne is:
We recommend exporting your VersionOne data to CSV to import it to Jira.
In order to create a CSV file, you need to use the VersionOne's custom reporting. Custom reporting allows you to perform an export to different file formats, including CSV. Refer to VersionOne's documentation for help on how to use custom reporting and exporting to CSV.
^ This would be mainly issues, but the other alternative is to utilise JSON - see this link - where you will be able to specify more historic data and previous sprints, etc.

Hello @Praveena as @Bharath Kumar Kappala suggests, you can import the issues rather than the whole config. In my company we have done plenty of migrations from different tools into Jira and in most of the cases there is some data loss or the effort to bring the whole data requires a lot of effort and work hours that usually isn't worth it. Sometimes migrating to server and then moving to cloud can help you bring more data. It all depends on the tool, not sure it's the case with version one

@Praveena I think you can just migrate only data (issues) from Version from Version one to Jira after the migration is done you will have to setup the Backlog and sprints in Jira again separately.
Hope this helps!
