little tasks

We have system administrators whose time needs to be tracked in Jira. But there are very small tasks that take little time to complete and they don't want to create tasks. Is it possible to create tasks automatically? Maybe a list of tasks?

If the tracking needs come down to making sure they're done, maybe a checklist or checklists storing those little tasks with statuses on a bigger issue would be the right approach for you? 

Checklists are not a feature native to Jira, but there are free (and paid) apps that provide this functionality.

Hi @Ivan Andrieiev,

There's several ways to create tasks automatically or semi-automatically in Jira. You can do so via Automation rules or via csv import. Be aware though that every task needs at least a summary and will have to be moved through one/more steps of a workflow to complete it, on top of the time tracking part.

If you are really dealing with little tasks where registering and following up is perceived as overhead, you may also create a single task just for tracking time on little tasks. While that approach does not make all work visible, it may reduce friction with the concerned users to let them use the tool.
