jira on IE fails someimes when retrieving reports

If I use jira in IE and click on reports and select different report, I get this error sometimes:

Exception: Unable to get property 'contains' of undefined or null reference

Sometimes it hangs my IE page to the point where I can't do anything with the

page anymore. If I looks at the same reports using chrome, everything works fine.

Is there a setting on IE that would cause this failure?

have you tried disabling plugins?
