I have been wanting to invite a friend to my space, but they don't show up on my screen when I try to invite them to my space... please can you help me with inviting them to my space?
Thanks!!
Hello,
You can add people directly from within Jira (no need to be an org admin, depending on your site’s access settings).
From Jira (Teams sidebar):
In Jira, in the left sidebar, click Teams.
Click Add people.
Enter their email address.
Use the dropdown to select which space/team they’ll be added to.
Click Add – they’ll receive an email invitation to Jira.
More details here:
Add people to Jira from Google, Slack, or Microsoft | Jira Cloud | Atlassian Support
If your site is configured to only allow admin-approved invites, your request might need approval by an admin before they actually get access.
if you’re an organization admin or user access admin, you can invite users and give them product access (Jira Software, JSM, etc.) from the admin hub:
Go to https://admin.atlassian.com.
If you have multiple orgs, select the correct organization.
Go to Directory → Users.
Click Invite users.
Enter one or more email addresses (comma or space separated).
In the Product roles section, select which products/roles they should get (e.g. Jira Software – Users).
(Optional) Add them to additional groups.
(Optional) Add a custom message in the invitation email, or uncheck Send invitation if you don’t want to send it yet.
Click Invite user(s).
Once a user exists on the site, you control their project access via project roles or group membership.
For company-managed software/business projects:
Open the project.
Go to Project settings → People.
Click Add people.
Search by name or email.
Choose a role
Click Add.
If they don’t yet have site access, you may see an option to invite them while adding to the project, depending on how site access is configured
Thank You,
Prachi
Hello @Keyz
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
What steps are you executing to try to invite them? Can you share screen images of what you see?
Are you the Organization Admin for the site? Did you set up the subscription or did somebody else?
Here is a link to the documentation for how to invite a user to your Jira app.

The tags on your post indicate you are using a Free subscription. Is that accurate?
If so, with a Free subscription you can have no more than 10 users granted access to your site. And you cannot customize the application permissions for the users so every user will have the equivalent of Project Administrator permissions in all the projects.
What is the Free Jira Cloud Plan?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Hello @Keyz
In the other reply thread:
I tried doing that but idk why it still didnt let me invite her to my space...
Your post tags indicate that you are on the Free subscription (Product Plan). Is that accurate?
If so, you cannot invite users to individual Spaces in Jira in a Free subscription because you cannot customize the permissions per Space. You can only grant the person access to your Jira App, and then they will have the equivalent of Project Admin access in all the projects.
What are the exact steps you are executing to try to invite people?
Can you provide screen images of what you are seeing as you try to execute those steps?

Hi @Keyz , Your friend should have Jira application access first then you can add him or invite him at the space level. Provide him or invite him to Jira first and then add to the space. Thanks

Hi @Keyz ,
Is your friend added to your Atlassian site? If you are the confluence admin you can add that space.
Hope this helps.
