how to use 2 factor authentication

our organization Log in to Jira with our Microsoft account.

However, to set up 2-factor authentication When accessing the menu It asks to enter P/W.

However, if I enter microsoft's P/W,

it is marked as invalid P/W and I cannot proceed to the next step.

how do i solve it?

Hello and hope this reply finds you well.

I believe if you are using microsoft to login your are using Atlassian Access and Azure as the IDP provider. If this is the case you will need to enforce 2FA from Azure to be able to utilize 2FA since your org as an identity provider.

When you are not using an identity provider that is when you can use the 2FA option in admin console.
