Hello @Bommidala Srujana

If you have been granted permission to delete issues you will find that option in the More Actions menu when viewing the issue.

Note that there is no option to get the issue back if you delete it by mistake. The deletion is permanent.

You may not have been given permission to delete issues. If you don't see the option you will need to escalate your request to the administrator of your Jira project.

Hello @Bommidala Srujana ,

Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community :)

One should have 'Delete issue' permission on project to be able to delete a work item in a project. Once you have the permission, you should see an option "delete" when you click on three dots on top right corner of the work item.

Hi @Bommidala Srujana

Before deleting a work item you should make sure that not only are you able to do so, but that deleting the work item won't have consequences, in fact we normally recommend that you don't delete work items, instead of deleting the work item you can archive it instead which would remove it from view in lists and boards.  In addition your company may have policies that say you shouldn't delete work items, you don't want to get in trouble for breaching company polisies.

For example in my company we are audited yearly and the work items that we have worked on form part of that audit so we can't delete any work items, we have also had people try and delete tickets when they make a mistake, in which case we'd rather keep the ticket and help them learn how to not make the mistake in future.
