how to configure a project to enable calendar view?

The current guides show me steps that I cannot follow because there is no calendar tab nor configure views option available

Thank you for provided answers, in conclusion:

Like Trudy and Pedro stated, the configuration depends on the hosting type of Jira. For my case, it's Data Center Jira, and I have internal restrictions to add plugins from Atlassian Marketplace.

If you have access to Atlassian Marketplace to add plug ins, then that's the answer. If not, it's to check internally to get a plug in for calendar features.

Please share a link to the guide you are referencing.

You have not indicated if you are using Jira Cloud or Jira Data Center. What information do you see if you click the Help icon (the question mark) in the upper right corner and then select "About". It is possible you are referencing a guide for Jira Cloud when you are actually using Jira Data Center or vice versa.

I think you are right, I didn't know it was Jira Data Center but seems like it.

For Jira Data Center the calendar feature is not available out of the box.

Atlassian has provided a free app in the Atlassian Marketplace so that you can add a Calendar gadget to your Jira Dashboards.

Welcome to atlassian community!

Attach steps to see calendar in jira project:

Go to your project: and then to Project settings.
Select Features in the menu.
Toggle the Calendar feature: on.
Ensure your project is associated with a board: and that you have access to the board, as this is required for the calendar to display.
From your project's navigation bar, click on Calendar to view your scheduled issues.
