how do I display stories and tasks below an epic in next gen roadmap

How do I get stories and tasks to display below epics in the next gen roadmap?  I know that this is possible as we could do it at my last organisation - I am using the Cloud version of Jira.  

I also see on the documentation page https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/roadmap-957979308.html

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The screenshot you added is related to the Roadmap Macro, which can be added to confluence pages and would display the Stories below the Epics.

In the Roadmap feature itself, it is not possible at this moment to display Stories below Epics, however, we have just developed this feature and are currently performing the steps to upload it to production. You can check the following feature request to track its progress:

- Next-Gen Projects: Have the options to display stories in road-map

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

For now, we recommend you to create a confluence page and add all your project roadmaps to have that view.
