we formerly started to setup JIRA cloud software under the account ownership of <user1>@<ourdomain>.org and JIRA url:  <ourdomain>.atlassian.net. At some point this initiative was terminated and the account was revoked. Now, we started to reconsider JIRA and opened a new account (ownership: <user2>@<ourdomain>.org) for which we intended to assign the (formerly used) <ourdomain>.atlassian.net domain name. However, we are told that this name is already in use (although it should have been released once the former account was deleted). Could you please either release the former domain or right away assign <ourdomain>.atlassian.net as the url of the new account owned by <user2>@<ourdomain>.org.

Hi @HiGHmed eV you may want to contact Atlassian Support with this request to see what is and isn't possible for your accounts.  They can probably straighten it out faster than this community forum.  A System Administrator probably needs to make the request.

Hope that helps.

They usually do not allow names to be recycled for months, I think there may be governance/compliance rules about it (which may vary by industry and country)
