Dear Team,
Have downloaded the tar.gz file from atlassian download page and while extracting it, failing with following error :

atlassian-jira-software-8.5.5-standalone/bin/startup.sh
atlassian-jira-software-8.5.5-standalone/bin/daemon.sh
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
All related permissions are in place and still it is throwing error. Please suggest.

Just to add on here, you can also get the md5 hash of the file by adding .md5 to the download url - example:
https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/downloads/binary/atlassian-jira-software-8.5.5.tar.gz.md5
Then in your terminal, use the md5sum command against your downloaded archive file and compare the hashes to make sure they match.

The extract for 8.5.4 is working fine here . Have raised a ticket with Atlassian to comment regarding 8.5.5 extract.

This usually tells us that your downloaded copy of the file is corrupted.
Could you try re-downloading it ?(looking for errors while it downloads, and checking that at least the size matches the published file)
