difference between Label and Shared Team against an epic ?

What is advantage of using Shared Team against label in Epic ?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Anybody can create a Label value. You can end up with similar values with slight differences, like misspellings.

With Shared Teams there will be a prescribed list of values.

What are you trying to accomplish with the use of either of these fields?

I would recommend using the Shared Teams option or a custom selection list field where you can provide a list of usable values. Use of Labels is too prone to end users making mistakes in the naming of labels.

Can you have more than one team assigned to the work? If so then the Teams field will not work for you as it allows selection of only one team.

Multiple teams/pods have few common members , idea is stick to one team for each pod for easy backlog view

Well I am trying to make sure for a plan/project epics are labeled/assigned right to teams and while pulling out backlog teams are aware about their backlog.

Was wondering to manage backlog effectively is creating separate share team for each pod/agile team is good idea as labels may be little confusing to pivot on ?
