creating email addresses within JIRA domain

I am trying to set up mail handlers. Things are working well with the default email address jira@mycompany.com.

how do I create proj1@mycompany.com?

Hello @Amit Kanudia welcome to the community, based on what you say, if the email accounts are from your domain you create them on your email provider. Then you can add them in Jira as incoming mail handlers. I'm not sure that's really the question here though, could you please clarify further what you expect with this as a result?

Thanks for engaging. Right now, I have only the default email address, and all emails are assigned as tasks in the default project I have declared there. I just want to be able to use project-wise email addresses so that I can create tasks in different projects. I guess I need to create emails like proj1@mycompany.com, and declare proj1 as the default project in an email handler? I don't know how to create the email ID proj1@mycompany.com. thanks!

You could configure the emails there so emails sent to account A end in A project for example
