column values missing

Swarupa Jakku February 9, 2022

Hello Team,

I am unable to view any of the new columns fields that I add Environment, or any other field value doesn't show up.

However old values do pop-up.  Can someone help, I might be missing on some basics..

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Rupa

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? It will say which at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

Can you provide a link to the documentation you followed for adding the fields? The process is very different between the two types of projects. The process for a Company Managed project involves a lot more steps; defining the custom field, adding it to field configurations, adding it to screens, and adding it to issue layouts.

Hello Trudy,

Thanks for trying to help me.  Its a combination of both {company & team}.  I tried looking at the left of the navigation path but didn't find any.  However we do have JIRA boards data which is a combination of both.

Frankly I don't think it is dependent on team/company managed , reason it doesn't show up values for any of the new fields that I added.

Hello @Swarupa Jakku

I don't think I am understanding your problem correctly.

Are you talking about new custom fields not showing up in issues you are creating or trying to edit? If so, then yes, it does matter if the issues are in Company Managed projects or Team Managed projects, and it does matter how you added the fields to the configurations of Jira and the projects.

Another way to find out which type of project your project is would be to go to Projects > View All Projects. Find your project. The type (Company or Team Managed) will be specified in the Type column.

Note that a "project" cannot be a combination of both Team and Company Managed. A project can be only one or the other. You may have manually created an Agile Board (kanban or scrum) that combines data from two projects, but the projects themselves are only Team or only Company Managed.
