cannot create story or task

I am not able to create  a story or task in Jira today..

getting the error "Request Type: Request Type is required." for stories

The error you are facing can be caused by one of the following settings:

1 - It is possible that you have a required field called "Request type" that does not have a valid value configured.

In fact, the original System field "Request type" is locked and can not be configured as required, so the only way to reproduce this problem would be if someone in your site has created a new custom field with the same name and made it required.

Follow the steps below to properly identify the field that is causing this problem and confirm if this is the root cause:

• Navigate to your project > Project Settings > Fields > Actions > Edit Fields
• Search for a Request Type field that is not Locked
• Set the field as optional

2 - You have a workflow validator in your project causing the Request type field to be required.

Follow the steps below to properly confirm if this is the root cause of the problem:

• Navigate to your Project > Project settings > Workflows > Click to edit the workflow related to your Stories and tasks
• On diagram mode, click in the create issue transition > Validators
• Check if there are any validators applied to the request type field and remove it. P.S: If there are other projects using the same workflow, this change might affect them too.

If the steps above did not help, please provide us a screenshot of your field configuration screen containing the request type field.

I have a similar error when creating a user story. I didn't have this issue all this time, only today I have this issue. 

when i create the user story, it gives an error Stream: Stream is required. But I can't see the Stream field on the screen.
