Our dev team uses Jira to manage epics/stories/tasks

We want to add to it additional hierarchies for product, above story, so that the hierarchy will be

Goal -> Initiative -> Epic -> Story -> ....

Goals are unique, and each can have several initiatives.

Each initiatives can have several epics.

etc etc.

This way I will be able to create a plan using this hierarchy, showing top level goals, under which initiatives, and only then epics

How do I do this?

Hi @Lior Adler and welcome to the Community!

You tagged your question as related to the Premium product plan. That's good, because being on a premium plan is a prerequisite to allow you to do this.

With Jira Admin permissions, navigate to Settings > Issues > Issue Type Hierarchy and follow the steps described in this support article to add the additional levels above Epic.

On a side note, make sure you create issue types for Goal and Initiative first, so you can associate them with the new hierarchy levels.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Walter! I will give it a go.

Is it easily revertable?

If the hirarchy is not working for us, will removing the additional goal/initiative be easy?
