add a column to a Kanban Board

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!

I'd like to add a column to a Kanban Board. The Configure board screen says, "Contact a Jira or Board Administrator to configure this board." Can I become a Board Admin, or does someone else need to make edits on my behalf?

Hi David, 

I hope this post finds you well!  

If you do not have the edit permissions for the Board you would need to engage with the Board Administrator or the Jira Administrator for those changes to be made.  Without the edit permissions for the Board you will not be able to make the changes directly.

Hello,

Welcome to the community:)

To configure the board and any of its settings, you must be either:

  • space administrator for the location of the board

  • board administrator for the board itself

Please contact your admins for the same.
