Hi,

Simple steps to fix β€œacli auth login – authentication failed (Access Denied)”

  1. Make sure you created the Rovo Dev–scoped API token (not a regular Atlassian API token).

  2. Log out of all Atlassian accounts in your browser, then log in only with the account that has Rovo Dev access.

  3. Run the correct command:

    acli rovodev auth login

    (Don’t use acli auth login.)

  4. When the browser opens, confirm you are signed in to the same account that has Rovo Dev enabled.

  5. If you still see β€œAccess denied,” your account likely does not have Rovo Dev permission β€” ask your org admin to enable access.

  6. Try again using a private/incognito window or a different browser to avoid cached sessions.

Quick check:
If the command fails immediately after browser login, it’s usually a permission issue or wrong account session.
