Workflow validator/JMWE not working for "Team" field

I have a user requesting that we make the "Team" field a mandatory item when creating a ticket in Jira.

  • I tried using the Field Configuration by creating a new Field Configuration but it does not give me the option to require that field.
  • I went to the Workflow Validator and using the Field Required Validator option it only gives me so many results for "Team" because we have literally hundreds of Custom Fields with "Team" in the name or description.Team-select.jpg
  • When I tried the Field Required Validator (JMWE app) option it gives me the choice for "Team" but when I test it I get the error "Team is required" (custom message) whether or not the "Team" field is populated.

Is there another trick to try for getting "Team" to be required when creating a ticket?

Hi @Greg Williams,

Suprija here from JMWE (Appfire) support team.

If the "Team" field you're referring to is from Advanced Roadmaps, then please note workflow validators see the value of the Team field as it was before the transition and not the value that is input on the transition (or issue creation) screen. Hence the validator returns false even though you select a value for the Team field on the screen. This applies to all apps, not just JMWE.

There's an open bug request with Atlassian on this: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/ACJIRA-2504

We suggest you reach out to the Atlassian support team here https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/ and ask them for ETA, priority, or any possible roadmaps for the bug fix.

You can comment on, vote for, and/or watch that Bug request if you're interested to get notified with updates on it.

Suprija
