Workflow assignment and status and board changes (Jira Cloud)

Hi

I have created a new workflow and assigned it to a number of ticket types in an existing project. When I publish it, and map the old statuses across for each ticket type, will the status of existing tickets automatically be migrated? And will any sprint boards set up be automatically updated?

If not, what is the next step in making this change?

Yes, you are right. When you publish a new workflow and assign it to a number of ticket types, it will ask you to first map old statuses to new statuses ( you will have liberty to select to which status you want to transition to ) and then it will automatically update the status of all existing tickets of those types to the one you selected

Boards will not be automatically updated. If you introduced any new statuses in the workflow, or removed/replaced old ones, you will  need to update the board column mappings ( Board settings -> Columns )
