Hi we have recently installed JIRA and i although i have used it many times in the past i have nevber been involved in the configuration/setup of workflows. So, please can you tell me:
Thanks,
Kash
1. Yes - read up on "workflow schemes", but the basic idea is the workflow scheme for a project says "use workflow A for issue type X, workflow B for issue type Y and workflow C for all other issue types"
2. Effectively unlimited, although it is only one per issue-type.
3. You can't. When you add a new project, you have to edit it to select the workflow scheme. I suspect there's some code you could change so that it goes with a different scheme, but bear in mind that it's not actually assigning the default Jira scheme really, it's actually just got no data at all, which the code in Jira then assumes means "use the default". It's not quite the same as saying "use the default"
Hi Nic thanks for the reply, however, what i see in the workflows section of my project seems a little bizarre. The JIRA default workflow shows Bug as default and i want to be able to add a Bug workflow/scheme that i created which i'm guessing is why i can't see add scheme option in the actions section. I have alos noted that the Feature workflow/scheme i created which is asscoiated with the project does not seem to include Feature as an issue type even though i have clearly assigned to that. Any ideas?

Um, can I ask you to be very clear here. The sentence "Jira default workflow shows bug as defualt" doesn't match anything in Jira.
Workflows and issue-types are separate things. Your workflow scheme ties them together, as it's a list of rules of "use workflow for issue type", but you can use any workflow for any issue type. What issue types a project uses is totally independent and determined by the issue type scheme, which gives the "user has clicked create, here's a list of possible issue types for them" (and handles the default issue type)
There are two distinct schemes you need to look at here, and be careful how you describe them, because it is confusing.
