Hi

We would like to start using the Time Tracking function to see how much time we spend on different Issues. When someone enters a time, everyone who is on the Watch option receives an email about this. Is it possible to remove those email? We want information if someone has added a comment but not if time has been added.

Hello @Joakim Bengtsson

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Each project has a set of Notifications configured for it. The Notifications configuration sends emails to designated people when specific events occur. Each event can be configured separately to specify the recipients of the notification for that event.

There is a Work is logged event in the Notifications. By default Jira configures that to send a notification to All Watchers, Current Assignee, and Reporter. If you don't want the Watchers to receive the notification, you need to change the Notification configuration.

The method for doing so, and who has permissions to do so, depends on the type of project; Company Managed or Team Managed. Here is the documentation for each.

Company Managed: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-notification-schemes/

Team Managed: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/customize-notifications-in-team-managed-projects/

The way I see it is like this:

  1. Un-watch all of the issues with the time tracking enabled
  2. Make an automation rule where the trigger would be a Issue commented followed by the action of Send an email where the "To" field would be the "Initiator" and the subject would be {{issue.key}} has a comment (or something similar) with the "Content field" would have the {{issue.comments.reverse.body}} which would return all of the comments BUT in the reverse order
