Will it still be possible to authenticate Altassian hosted Jira instances?

A mutual user of Zapier is currently authenticating with a username and password and is on a Zapier integration that leverages the v2 of the underlying Jira API. We're wondering if we can get away with simply swapping out the password for an API token while still retaining the V2 version of the integration? Can we continue to connect to the cloud instance his way?

Hi @Zapier Test ,

I am not sure how the Zapier integration works, but  actually Basic Authentication with username and password has just been replaced by basic authentication with email address and API Token. Therefore yes, it should be enough to replace the credentials to be able to authenticate REST API calls against the instance.

For details please see:

Thank you so much Dario! I just had a couple of Zapier users swap out the password for the API token and I can see that this is working for them, thanks a ton for confirming this :-)
