Will a Project Key change destroy github integrations?

Hello,

I am wondering if changing the project key is going to wipe all of the github/git branch integrations we have with the current issues? Integrations as the below which are used for history purposes and tracking.

Since all the issues are under what would become the old key, would a key change be able to maintain the links to PR's and branches etc? Has anyone come across this?

Thank you for reaching out.

In Jira Cloud, all the commits, PRs and Branches you have integrated with Github will be maintained once you change your Project key since previous links are retained in Jira database. The new commits/PRs/Branches towards the new Project Key will go to the new Project Key ass well.

This functionality was implement years ago and registered under the following feature request:

The DVCS connector should check for Moved issues 

That being said, it is completely safe to rename your project key without worrying about further integration problems with other applications. For further details, you can check the documentation below:
