We created a filter to search based on wildcard ‘*”, which works perfectly fine in Jira 7.13.6 with wildcard search plugins version 2.5. As soon as we upgraded to Jira Server to 8.12.0, the plugin doesn’t seem to work. Result for the same filter is empty in 8.12.0.
Dear Suvir,
I tested the plugin Wildcards Search plugin for Jira in my Jira Server Demo instance which runs version 8.12.1. The search works as expected. I tested:
labels in labelsList("team#*")
project in projectsList("*Arch*")
I assume you did not update the plugin when you upgraded to Jira 8.12.0 because the plugin has been very stable over the last years and there was no need to upgrade it for a long time.
From my experience with Jira and Add-Ons I would recommend to disable the add-on, check if it is really disabled by executing one of its search functions. Now Jira should give an error about "Unable to find JQL function ...". Then, enable the add-on again.
Once in a while it also helps to uninstall and reinstall an Add-On.
I hope this is of some help to you. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards,
Tobias
Thank you Tobias. It does work as expected.
