Why would a new Jira account to be created when I sign using Google on a new browser?

I set up my Jira account using Google. I recently reformatted one of my laptops. When I signed into Jira using Google on the reformatted laptop, a new Jira account was created. I'm still able to access my previous account from a different laptop, and my GitHub integrations still work. Any idea how this happened?

Hello @Diceman Washington

What you describe usually means the Google login on the new browser did not resolve to the same Atlassian account as before.

Most common reasons are:

- a different Google account/profile was selected

- the old Jira account is tied to a different email address

- the previous account was not actually linked to that same Google login

Please compare the exact email address on the old account and the new one. Even a small difference there is enough to create what looks like a second account.
