Why won't a particular JIRA ticket show in my Kanban board when I set the board to filter by epics?

I created a new Kanban board based on a filter. When I run the filter, the ticket 2132 shows up in the results (as intended). When I look at the board and it's not associated swimlanes with epics, the ticket shows up in the board. However, as soon as I set the swimlanes to epic view, the ticket disappears from the board. Initially, I though it was an issue with the board only allowing a single JIRA project to be included. So, to be safe, I created a second version of the board, but this time used the "Select Projects" option and included both projects. Same result. When I visit the JIRA ticket and click "View on Board", the output in the modal even shows that the ticket should be in the two new boards that I created. So, it doesn't appear to be a project-level issue. It doesn't appear to be a filter issue. It seems to only be related to setting the board swimlanes to sort by epic. Any thoughts on how I can resolve this?
