WeiKee Yong October 7, 2020

Hi There,

I inherited this free Jira cloud, that our company going to convert to a paid version. Will wanted to set it up correctly.

Here is the scenario:

1. When I try login to <companyname>.atlassian.net

2. Successful login

3. Redirect to <IT + companyname>.atlassian.net

Any idea why this happen?

Hi WeiKee,

I understand that you are trying to login to a particular Jira Cloud site, but after you login under the id.atlassian.com address, you are being redirected to a different site.

I believe this is happening because you are not actually setup to be a user of that initial site yet OR you have entered an incorrect site name.  This could explain the behavior seen here, the process of login here will only be able to redirect you to a Cloud site where you have permissions to access it.

If this answer does not make sense in this case, please let me know the exact names of the specific URL in which you are trying to access here and I can investigate this further.

I am not finding any Atlassian Cloud site by that name (or at that specific address).  Are you sure that is the correct site address?

Your account seems to be able to login to our ID platform, and in turn this will grant your login session access to any Cloud site where you already have access.   But since that specific address is not appearing to me to be in use by anyone, there is no one I can refer you to for help getting to that address.

If there was a site-admin of a site at that address, then that person could then invite you to it, but that does not even apply in this case since there is no site at that address.

I don't know what to best recommend here, but in my view I would question that address since I have no record of that site.

Please let me know if I can be of any additional help here.

Hi Andy,

When I try accessing this url (ipay88.atlassian.net), it prompt me to login and redirect to  (itipay88.atlassian.net) and idea why this happen?  I assuming ipay88.atlassian.net already exist in atlassian system, if its not, it will return " Page unavailable, Your Atlassian Cloud site is currently unavailable. "

I saw another link about changing site url, will try my luck there https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloudkb/changing-the-cloud-instance-url-address-or-migrating-to-a-new-cloud-instance-691011835.html

Hi @Yong Wei Kee

I took a closer look at this site history. It appears that this Cloud site was renamed shortly after it was created.  This is why when trying to visit that address you are getting redirected here.

Is this a problem?  Are you trying to create a new site back at that old address?  Please let me know if this is a problem.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for checking, we are trying to use back  (ipay88.atlassian.net), is this possible?

@Yong Wei Kee I have created a support ticket for you in this case over in https://getsupport.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/23/JST-606740

I cannot guarantee that this redirect can be deleted.  There are many scenarios that can prevent this from being possible from a technical standpoint.  Most of them revolve around how apps from the ecosystem might be still utilizing the old site name for their functionality, and we certainly don't want to break the functionality of those apps.  However if it is possible in your case, then we will need to work with you in that ticket to achieve this.
