I use my favorite filters daily, so having them in the left nav made getting to them easy. With the update that removed them from left nav, it is more cumbersome to find the one I need. I realize I can access them by viewing all starred filters, but I have a lot of filters I use, and it is tedious to have to go search page-by-page for them. It would be ok if the list when you go to the starred filters provided the entire list you could scroll through instead of having a set number on each page.
Finding my favorites this new way takes extra time and is tedious.
I know it seems small, but it really makes a difference. Would you consider adding favorite filters back to the left nav?
Yes, trying to use the Starred filters in Jira Cloud after the new navigation is painful ! Before the change, I would simply click on the filters listed on the left to easily use the filters in a meeting to view the work items by each assignee so that we could talk about the work in our scrum. We could easily review starred filter lists quickly in a meeting.
After the 'new navigation' it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to even find the starred filters. I found a list of most of them in the new 'expand sidebar' option at the very top left. But clicking on those filters on the left does nothing. Shouldn't clicking on those then open the 'filtered All Work' list?
The only way I found to use the filters is to click on the 'View all starred items' or 'View all filters' under the expand sidebar to open up a new page. From there, I can at least get the 'filtered All Work' to come up by clicking on one of them. But then, I need to use the browser back button to go back to the filter page and then click on the next starred filter that I want to use. This is going to make using the starred filters in all work very painful.
Maybe there is another, efficient way to use these filters in the new navigation, but I have not found it yet.
Hello @Ellis_ Kathy
Can you provide more information about what you mean by favorite filters?
Based on my experience with both Jira Data Center and Cloud the term Favorites (related to filters) in the left side navigation appeared only in Jira Data Center, not Jira Cloud. And "Favorites" was synonymous with "Starred".
Jira DC
In Jira Cloud before navigation update the only left side navigation was within projects. and the Filters menu just showed "Starred".
Jira Cloud after navigation update shows a section for Starred (i.e. Favorites) and Recently accessed.
With the various updates to navigation I may be missing some intermediate version to which you are referring as having "favorites" is Cloud.

Hi @Trudy Claspill - I had "favorite" in my brain. It is actually the starred filters. I still see a few of the filters on the left, but used to be able to scroll through all of my starred filters there. I know there are lot of people who aren't fond of a side panel, but that made it super easy to get to what I needed.

As shown in the above screen images for Jira Cloud new navigation above I see lots of my Starred filters in the side panel, with the option to "View all starred items". The list on the side is definitely not all of my starred filters. I'm not sure how it is deciding which starred filters to show.
Are you not seeing a longer list of starred filters in the panel?
Can you provide a screen image of what you are seeing?

@Trudy Claspill - This is a snapshot of what I see. All of my filters used to be on the left in alpha order so I could quickly find and grab what I needed. Now there are just a handful. I can click on the link to view all starred filters, but then I have to go through several pages each time I need a filter.
