Why is the "resolved" time set when I add a fix/version to my in-progress ticket?

While I'm trying to plan what tickets get added to an upcoming release, when I add a fix/version to the ticket, it will automatically add a "resolved" timestamp and then the ticket looks like it's been completed no matter what the other status is.

Example:

I am a developer working on a ticket, it has a Status of In-Progress.

We decide it is going to go out with in a release with fix/version 2.2

I add the fix/version

The ticket is marked as resolved

At a guess, you have the resolution field on the edit screen.

That's odd.

Any chance some automation or script is triggered as soon as you provide a value for Fix Version?

I'm thinking about add-ons like Automation For Jira and Script Runner (script listeners).

Maybe your Jira Admin know more about it.
