I have some issues that I assign to a given group of users. When the issue transitions the users looses commenting capability.
This occurs despite the project's permissions are enabled for any logged user:
I think your worfklow sets the jira.issue.editable
property to false.
Check the worfkow transition properties in your workflow configuration.
