Why does the issue tab and create tab in jira disappear after a while?

We've recently unpdated our jira version to 7.3 and updated our IE and chrome to the latest versions. when updating issues on JIRA, after a while the Create and Issues tabs disappers then we are forced to logout then login again, and only then do these tabs appear agian. after a while the issue persists again. all our users have been experiancing this problem

Could your sessions be timing out?  That can leave an unused session appearing to be active, but all the functionality disappears from the background and the only way to get it back is to log in again (which you have to prompt it to do with a click on log-out or refreshing the browser)
