I've recently noticed that the /jira/your-work page has been removed and replaced with a reworked page, /jira/for-you.
Does Atlassian know that this page breaks tabbed browsing when you try and cmd-click on links to individual issues in the list?
I usually use this page and tabbed browsing A LOT in my workflow, and not being able to cmd-click to open links in a new tab is super annoying.
I also don't understand how its sorting items in the lists. ie, as far as I can tell, they don't let you customize or change the sort order for the individual categories? The "In Progress" section seems much less useful than its equivalent in your-work.
I'd expect it to put most-recently-modified first, but it's using some arbitrary sort order I don't understand. It's not alphabetical by project or title, it's not by creation date ... no clue why its displaying things in the order it is
Is it possible to go back to your-work? Am I missing something here?
You're not the only one experiencing this. The new For You page appears to be designed more as a dynamic dashboard than a traditional list view, which unfortunately can make common workflows like Cmd/Ctrl+Click tabbed browsing less convenient.
From what I've seen, the issue links are often rendered through interactive components rather than standard hyperlinks, which can prevent browsers from opening them in new tabs the way users expect. If that's the case, it's definitely a usability regression for anyone who regularly reviews multiple issues at once.
Regarding the sorting, Atlassian seems to be using its own relevance or recommendation logic rather than a simple sort order such as recently updated, created date, or alphabetical order. As far as I know, there isn't currently a way to customize the sort order within each section, which can make it difficult to understand why certain issues appear where they do.
If your workflow depends heavily on the old Your Work experience, you might want to:
Check whether there is a feature flag or admin setting available in your Jira instance.
Use custom filters, boards, or issue navigator views as an alternative.
Submit feedback directly to Atlassian, since tabbed browsing support is a pretty fundamental productivity feature.
I'd also be interested to know whether Atlassian plans to restore standard link behavior or provide sorting customization, as both seem like reasonable expectations for a page that's intended to be a personal work hub.
Hello @Nick Hatch
You're not missing a setting here, there's currently no way to customize the sorting or switch back to the old layout. Atlassian built it as a fixed feed.
The Cmd-click issue is definitely a UI bug, as breaking tabbed browsing completely kills the workflow. As a workaround, use a saved filter or the standard issue search page for now, since those still handle tabs properly. It's also worth opening a ticket with Atlassian Support so they can log this regression.
Best,
Arkadiusz 🤠☀️
