Why does Version Report cut off the project end date?

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
The Version Report has been working reliably for the past ~1.5 years. Just recently the end date of the project has been cut off a few months prior to what the actual projected end date should be based on the trend line. Any ideas on what may be causing this?
