Why does System Dashboard > Activity Stream item shows up at future date?

Activiy stream item showing up as posted at future date (see link: http://note.io/15JjlaO). Why did this happen and how do I fix it so it shows up correctly?

Probably a timezone thing?

If the item in question is a commit from a repository connected to your instance using the DVCS Connector, this it could be the bug DCON-227. Here's the workaround:

Current workaround is to re-synchronize the repository that is showing a future date in the activity stream, sometimes you'll need to re-synchronize more than once and correct dates will be picked up.
