Why does Jira break bash commands?

I am unable to put bash commands in comments on my tickets without Jira erroneously adding characters. This is the command I want to add to my comment ->

bin/magento repair:product:visibility

No matter what I do, Jira adds a backslash before the first colon, which breaks the commands and gives bad directions. How can I get Jira to display the command correctly?

HI wesley,

Does this still happen if you use the code tags?

If you type in {code} is should give you a widget that then takes any input literally

If this doesn’t help, what version of Jira are you using?

If I use code blocks, the result is the same, the code block automatically removed and the backslash persists.

We are use jira cloud, so I am sorry an not sure how to check the version number.
