Hi!
I'm an admin of the Kanban board, but am not an admin of an underlying JIRA project. For some reason I cannot drag the issues between columns on my Kanban board. The columns are set up correctly (i.e. there's 4 columns and each of the issues with corresponding statuses belong to a specific column. There is nothing else i can configure.
Even if I am assigned to the ticket, I cannot drag them on the Kanban board. Instead I have to go into the ticket full view and change the status in there.
Why is this happening and how can it be fixed?
Thanks,
Natalya
IT sounds like the workflow does not allow you to move between the status. I could write a long essay on minor oddities here, but the first step here is to go to your administrators and ask why you can't drag and drop.
Do you mean the admin of the JIRA project? Does the admin of the project affect the kanban board? I thought it has its own separate permissions?
Thanks,
Natalya

Yes, start with the project admins.
You have not told us what type of project you are using, which is important, but that's entirely the fault of both the forum here and myself. (The forum didn't give you enough info to enable you to answer, hence the "unknown" tags at the top right, and I did not ask)
In some cases, your project admins determine the board settings and hence how things may or may not be draggable across columns. If you're in a Cloud "Next-gen" project, or a Cloud or Server board with "simplified workflow", your project admins are in charge.
In other cases, you will need to talk to Jira admins. For projects (and hence boards) using standard workflows, the workflow needs to have transitions between the status in the various columns on the board, and you need to match the conditions on those transitions. Jira admins control that type of workflow. I would expect your project admins to know who your Jira admins are though, so, again, start with them!
