Why can't a sort a jql by Team or Parent Link?

Nancy Polani July 28, 2022

I created a hierarchy in Jira. Initiative->Epic->Story.  I want to create a query that shows these relationships from the Initiative level down.  So the Key would be the  Initiative and under each Initiative, I want to see the Epics and under each Epic I want to see the stories. I created a jql based on the epics and added  Parent Link column but it doesn't allow me to sort by the Parent Link?

You won't get that in the Advanced issue search view but I think you get this hierarchy view in the Project - List view.

So...it depends on the project type it seems. Business projects provide the List view. I believe it is being developed for other projects like SW but unconfirmed.
