Why can't I link colleagues in Jira (but it works in Confluence and here)?

The "@" function to reference or link a thread to another user does not work properly on my account. It works on confluence, even here but not in jira. Why is that?

I need it the most in jira. I am kind of sick of having to use the usernames (which are hard to come by) in brackets to get the same feature.

Is there a setting that I can check that I may have altered at any point? Or ist there even a setting that can be altered by our admin?  (whom I like very much, but he isn't a very good help with this issue at the moment)

Hello @Daniel Saßmannshausen

You might run on the following issue :

  • Permission to the 'Browse Users' permission
  • Wiki Style Rendering for the affected field
  • Email visibility of users
  • The mentioned user does not have Browse Project permission
