Why can't I edit the priority of tasks?

I have a project with multiple epics, inside those epics I have tasks and subtasks inside but for some reason I can't edit the priority status for tasks but it is possible to edit the priority in epics and subtasks.

It's like if the priority was "fixed" in medium only for tasks.

I checked my configuration and it's says the priority is supposed to appear in tasks but when I open a task issue, there is no priority section.

3 places to check:

1. Screens

2. Layout

3. field configuration

You can too check the "Find your field" in the actions menu.

That will tell you where is the Priority field and how to add it to your Task.

Just to be clear, I think I'm going to the configuration you are pointing and I have it like this.

But then in the actions menu from my tasks It looks like this. The priority is not being displayed.

I'm not sure If that is what you are referring to. 

(I'm still getting familiar with Jira so I'm a bit confused!)
