Within my project backlog, i have a number of sprints showing.

One is active, and displaying issues.

The other is inactive, with issues - but none are being displayed, and i cant start the sprint because 'the sprint has no issues'.

(See screenshot)

However - there are 23 issues, that just arent being displayed.
Why is this and how do i fix it!!

Any help a.

As to why the issues are not being displayed...

  • how did you get the issues into the sprint? I assume it was not by dragging them from the backlog into the sprint?
  • Please check the filter for the backlog to understand if the missing issues are being excluded from the backlog altogether

Sorry for the late response, a workaround tied us over for a week or two and i wanted to see if it would last... it didnt.

The issues appear in the sprint showing at the top, automatically - there is a field that is filled in which assigns it to the sprint. It was not by dragging the tickets into the sprint backlog.

I also note that there are no filters turned on, on the sprint board.

Are the issues that are not showing in these sprints ever showing in the backlog? If not then the cause is that the board filter is excluding them altogether. The normal process is to drag issues from backlog up to a planned sprint vs. setting the sprint manually. I am suspicious that the sprint name being filled in manually is not associated with the board you are looking at. They could be ending up on another project board’ sprint. But they may not show there either because the board filter doesn’t include them. The point is the name of the sprint is important and must be associated with the board. This is why I use drag and drop and allow Jira to name/assign the sprint.

Hi @Jamie

Another thing to check is for any unmapped status values on the board configuration.  Issues which have a status value that is not assigned to a board column will not appear on the backlog view or in the assigned sprint.

Best regards,

Bill
