Why can I not add the Watcher field to my project screen in the latest new Jira Issue view?

When I disable Jira Labs, I can add manage Watchers from the side bar of a view Issue screen in my project. When enabled, it disappears and I cannot find it as a field to add to the screen in project settings.

Hi Mike,

Currently, the option to add and manage watchers in the new issue view is not available.
We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of such ability:
