Why are the insight counts showing incorrectly?

This idea ticket has 37 associated insights. However, on the list view and the Insights field on the right hand side, JPD is showing 28 insights. Some of our other idea tickets have similar discrepancies, but I can't see a pattern on when/why it's happening. Is this just a bug? See below screenshot for more context.

This mismatch usually happens when some insights are no longer linked directly to the idea, or they’re filtered out by view settings. In Jira Product Discovery, the count in the list view and side panel only includes active insights that are still associated and visible under the current filters or permissions. If any linked issues were deleted, archived, or restricted by permissions, they’ll still appear in the total count history but not in the visible list. Atlassian notes that insight totals update dynamically based on link validity and user visibility, so discrepancies often point to hidden or removed sources rather than a display bug.
