Hi @Ankur Gupta ,

I would recommend installing Jira 8.5.4 as it's an Enterprise release : https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftware/jira-software-8-5-x-release-notes-975014654.html#JiraSoftware8.5.xreleasenotes-perf

This means that you will benefit from security and bug fixes for 2 years.

Let me know if this helps,

Hi Alexis,

Thanks for your quick response.

I am installing it in Onprem server and it will be in production.

Should we not go for latest release???

In which case we should go for enterprise release and in which case latest release?

Regards

Hi @Ankur Gupta ,

latest version is maybe the one with the most features, but an Enterprise release is more stable and means that you don't have to upgrade that often to keep up with security fixes.

You can have a look at the documentation here : https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/atlassian-enterprise-releases-948227420.html#AtlassianEnterprisereleases-HowisanEnterprisereleasedifferentfromotherreleasetypes?

From experience, it can take a lot of time to follow every single Jira release, and the Enterprise release is an answer to this : it gives you a stable, long term support release that you can trust on the long term.
