Where I can set Unit Curent for a request

Anonim October 7, 2020

Hello,

I can not see the UNIT current from drop down list when I create a request.  It's black like in the image. And I want to be present like in the right image.

Thank you.

We do not know what "unit curent" is.  I suspect it is a term you use inside your organisation, but even if I assume that, I don't know how your organisation uses it.

You will need to explain how this relates to Jira in more detail if you want a useful answer here.

I will take a bit of a guess though - I think you mean that you have a field in a Jira request that has a list of options to select from.  You want "Unit curent" to be on the list, so you can select it, but it is not there.  If this is a correct guess, then you will need to contact your Jira administrators and get them to add it to the option list.

Hi I think the Unit curent is a Custom field . I attached a image with it. But I thing the value from drop down  is not a problem. I have a user who can't see the value from drop down. The others can see it. Is there any settings for users so can acces the value from that drop down. To give him acces.

Ok, I'm afraid there are no pictures attached, but I think you've given us more to work with, rather than try to ask for pictures.

A standard Jira select-list custom field, and in fact, the system select-lists too, do not have any functions for that behaviour.   Some do have some functions for limiting their content (for example, user-pickers can be limited to only offering the users in a particular group, and assignee has permissions that determine who can be selected as an assignee), but those do not work off "who the current user is"

So, I think there are three ways to get what you are seeing:

  • The field is one provided by an app, and it does have "limit list shown to current user" implemented
  • The field is a standard one, but you have a tweak or trick that is doing "limit list" with it.  I know the Behaviours module in Scriptrunner can do this sort of thing, but as I work for Adaptavist, I'm rather weak on whether there are other apps that might do it.  You could also be using some injected javascript to do it
  • Your user has a browser setting or plugin doing something odd

So, I would want to rule some of those out (or in!).  You'll need to talk to an admin for most of these, but start with:

  • Get your user to test it with a browser on another machine - do they get the same?  If they do not, we know it's something in their browser, and not Jira.
  • Admin -> Issues -> List of custom fields, and find the field in the list.  Beneath its name, there should be a display of the "type" of field it is (Like short text, select list, epic-colour, date, etc).  What does that say?
  • If you do have Scriptrunner, then go into the Admin for that and find "Behaviours".  If you've got good admins, you should see a list of Behaviours with names that tell you what they are for and hopefully one will stand out as affecting your field.  If you've got less good admins, you'll see a list of Behaviours that don't tell you what they're for, so you'll have to check each one to see if it affects your field.
  • You'll want to ask your admins if they have custom javascript, or any other app that might be affecting the field
