When a @user is mentioned on a (non-default) tab, no notification email is sent

Hi,

I have a project with issues containing 2 tabs: the default tab and a newly added tab.

When someone mentions a user (via @) on the new tab, no notification is sent to the user. Does anyone know how this may be resolved? Maybe some configuration is missing? The user involved does have the notifications enabled for when they're mentioned.

Note: When I mention someone on the default tab or in the comments, the user does get notified. So it's likely something with the new tab.

Thank you,

Alex

Based on this issue, it would seem that mentions work only in the System fields for Description and Comment.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-32563

When I put the Description field on a secondary tab and mention a user in it, that user is receiving the notification.

If you are using a custom field, it would seem that mentions in custom fields is not supported.

If you are using the Description or Comment fields, then I would suggest that you have the user check their Personal Settings and ensure that they have not disabled either the overall option for receiving email notifications or the option to receive notifications when mentioned.

Hi Trudy,

Thanks for you answer. I am using custom fields when mentioning someone, so your answer is spot on :-).

Cheers
